Dr. Kaufer: l - - ’ My patients are very happy the day after PanOptix ® implantation , and this effect continues week after week. Ihaveneverexplanted a PanOptix ® IOL , and almost all of my patients report high satisfaction after PanOptix ® implantation. Even after a unilateral implantation, patients will notice a positive difference in their range of vision, and this ‘wow’ effect lasts for more than 6 months. I have not had one unhappy patient implanted with the PanOptix ® IOL. ’ I hardly hear complaints . Before, patients would complain about reading or driving at night, but not with PanOptix ® . It is very rare for my patients to complain about seeing in low-light conditions. PanOptix ® is not pupil dependent or lighting dependent like other multifocal IOLs. It can provide functional vision in a variety of conditions, including low-light conditions. I took a lot of time warning patients about the inferior intermediate vision outcomes when using previous IOL technology. With PanOptix ® , I no longer have to explain the lag in that visual range , and I can save a few minutes for each patient. It was necessary to take the time to discuss the lack of intermediate vision with previous lenses. With PanOptix ® , we know that the intermediate vision will be as good as the near vision and this decreases my consultation times . PanOptix ® has reduced my chair time pre-operation Very fewpatients reportedbeingbotheredverymuchby starbursts, halos, and glare at 6-months post-implantation with PanOptix ® in a clinical trial. 1 ’ Patients may experience visual disturbances in the first few weeks, but as the weeks go by, the halo intensity decreases , and patients become more comfortable. In my practice, patients may experience halos and other disturbances in the beginning, but usually positive dysphotopsias disappear after 4-6 months . The excellent visual results help to minimize these complaints. Some of my patients complain of glares and halos, but the benefits of PanOptix ® , including the continuous range of vision, help to minimize and outweigh these complaints. In a clinical trial, many patients with PanOptix ® indicated never needing eyeglasses to see up close and at arm’s length in dim lighting conditions. 1 - Dr. Kaufer A clinical trial demonstrated that over 95% of patients (n=127) reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their vision at 6 months after PanOptix ® implantation. 1 Since the launch of PanOptix ® , I was able to convert more monofocal patients to multifocal patients. The conversion rate increased from 40% to 50% . Typically, hyperopic patients are good candidates for PanOptix ® . as well as post-operation. PanOptix ® has simplified the way we choose an IOL and makes it easier to offer customized vision to patients. In addition, bilateral implantation of PanOptix ® has simplified the IOL planning process because surgeons do not need to calculate distance or near dominance.
