Dr. Robert Kaufer (Argentina), Dr. Joaquim Murta (Portugal), and Dr. Rosa Braga-Mele (Canada) have each been using PanOptix ® for more than two years and were interviewed to discuss their experience. PanOptix ® post-operative visual outcomes Clinical studies have demonstrated the superior visual acuity of PanOptix ® at intermediate distances compared with monofocal and bifocal IOLs, 1; 4 while maintaining near and distance visual acuity. In your experience, what is the main advantage of PanOptix ® ? Dr. Kaufer: PanOptix ® provides the appropriate intermediate vision tomy patients. This range is very important because it is where they do most of their activities : seeing a computer, using a cellphone, or reading. Dr. Murta: I believe the key advantage of PanOptix ® is based on four areas. Firstly, the unique lens design provides 88% total light utilization. Secondly, the main advantage of PanOptix ® is its 60 cm intermediate vision . Thirdly, the 4.5 mm diffractive zone reduces pupil size dependency, providing optimized performance in a wide range of lighting conditions. Finally, I think its last advantage is biocompatibility, because PanOptix ® is built on theprovenhydrophobic AcrySof ® platform. Dr. Braga-Mele: Using previous approaches, some patients noticed a lag when changing vision. PanOptix ® offers a seamless range of vision: patients can switch from distance to near to intermediate without any jumping. “PanOptix ® offers a seamless range of vision: patients can switch from distance to near to intermediate without any jumping.” - Dr. Braga-Mele ANSWERS QUESTION l - - I l f I ti if l I f I ti i if l I i ti : : l f t l l f f ; : - i i ti f t l l ; : i ti , f ti t t
