Dr. Holland가 기대하고 있는 또 다 른 안구건조증 치료제는 TruTear(Aller- gan)이다. 그는 “이 제품은 코를 통해 신 경을 자극하는 장비입니다. 이 치료는 비 강 내 삼차신경 다발의 안구 쪽 가지를 자극하여 코눈물반사를 유발합니다. 자 극이 가해지면 부교감신경이 활성화되면 서, 뇌에서는 눈물샘이 더 많은 눈물을 생산하도록 명령을 내리게 됩니다.
