The key to success is to be aware of the issues and be prepared for all eventualities. “Challenging Cases – Rocky Road Ahead”, a video symposium co- hosted by the Indonesian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (INASCRS), will discuss such cases. Refractive surgery has been around for 20 years now; some techniques such as LASIK have stood the test of time, others such as PRK have had a resurgence, and new techniques such as SMILE are constantly evolving. “Achieving Focus – Refractive Surgery”, co-hosted by the Chinese Cataract Society, will examine these techniques to find the gold standard for refractive surgery today. Together with a comprehensive overview of multifocal IOLs, experts at “Presbyopia IOLs – The Right Optical Pathways”, co-hosted by the Japanese Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (JSCRS), will consider alternatives and newer concepts, including laser blended vision, monovision, corneal inlays, and depth of focus enhancement. This year’s Film Festival promises to be both entertaining and educational, displaying new innovations and breakthroughs in ophthalmic surgery. The Film Festival Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, 2 June 2017, 16:00 – 17:30 hrs, Hangzhou Hall 1. The Awards Ceremony is an integral part of the festival and producers are encouraged to attend; the festival results will only be announced during the ceremony.
